H's comments on watching PeeWee Herman's Big Adventure for the first time

He made a machine to do everything for him that parents are supposed to do.
He is way too big for that car.
Why does everything go right for him?
Why does he always laugh?
How does everybody know him?
He doesn't want to go anywhere or try anything new. Boring life.
He's weird.
That's where he works?
It's so awkward when adults cry. [Cited source: Dora and the Lost City of Gold]
Oh my god! Is he wearing a helmet?
He had a whole model of his real city.
You can't fit a whole ladder into your suitcase!
Did you see that?
PeeWee's weird.
That is way too much ice cream!
They shouldn't even let him in!
That's creepy.
That actually scared me.
Oh no.
He's still screaming.

Covid life

This morning H is teaching her own class. Virtually. She is talking to the computer, holding things up and asking questions. She waits for a response, gives feedback and moves on. #covidlife #newnormal #kidsadjust

Inappropriate post-bath declarations

H: I'm little towel riding wood!
E: It's peach day, let's celebrate peach since we all have peach skin!

First jiu jitsu class

I don’t have photos but I wish you all could have seen H at her first Jiu Jitsu class. She was a beast! They couldn’t get her out of the circle and she went right in on all the hand to hand stuff and she was one of last two kids standing in dodgeball. She might have found her athletic calling.

Nice kid

We got a call from Hope's new 2nd grade teacher (we haven't met her yet) asking if Hope could be a special friend to a girl who is coming new to the school this year. She said the counselor Ms. Brown spoke very highly of Hope and how friendly she is. When I told Hope about the opportunity she immediately started planning supplies she could bring for both of them.
